New! Grass-Fed Meat & Raw Dairy Buying Club

Direct from the Amish farmer to you. Meat and dairy that goes beyond organic-- back to the way it used to be before industrial farming took over. Food that’s…real food! G

Miller’s Farm meats are not only raised organically (with a pesticide-free diet, no hormones, steroids, antibiotics…), but raised with a biologically correct diet—grass for cows and goats, milk for calves, insects and some grain for chickens. This means a better nutritional profile* and a phenominal taste.

Also available to club members only—unprocessed, raw dairy products from cows and goats. Raw dairy products contain all the enzymes, antimicrobial components, and undamaged fats and proteins that occur naturally in raw dairy products.*

Regarding the CSA:

In 2004, a group of 25 families got together to organize the first CSA of White Plains, sponsored by St. Bartholomew's. We are nearly 50 families interested in closing the gap between the farmer and consumer.

We purchase food from Stoneledge Farm, LLC, which grows produce in South Cairo, NY. They are organic farmers, accredited by NOFA-NY.

Beginning the third week of every June for 24 weeks, on Wednesday, late afternoon from 3:30pm-6:30pm , they bring bags of food, picked the previous day, to St. Bartholomew's.

The cost of a share for 2010 has not been set, but it will probably be $575. This comes to a little more than $25 per week for the best vegetables you can buy. You are also supporting local agriculture, committing to a farmer.

This allows us to pay for some administrative and janitorial work at the request of the members (which costs about $70 a week, not including building costs). If you would like a fruit share, the cost is an additional $215. The fruit share includes 5-8 lbs of fruits, including berries, plums, peaches, pears, nectarines and apples. These are "low spray" and not organic. The church offers subsidies for up to 3 persons who can not normally afford to join.

We need volunteers who will

1) be the contact person
2) print out the sign up sheets and list of vegetables
3) help with set up
4) distribute the remaining food, if necessary
5) distributing recipes

We may also purchase meat from local distributors.
